All the arrangements for what would infamously become known as “Operation Searchlight” were completed. Eminent academics, among whom were the venerable GC Dev and the scholar Jyotirmoy Guhathakurta, were shot. Pakistan Military surrounded Bangladesh people on this day of 1971. In the self-sacrifice of 3 million martyrs, the extraordinary heroism and struggle of the ordinary people and the liberation of the freedom fighters liberated on this day of independence.The victory of the nine months of liberation took place in Bangladesh. The defeated invaders have surrendered. On 26 March (in the late night of 25th March) 1971 the independence of Bangladesh was declared and the Liberation War began. Before steeping into the flight, the army high command was instructed to commence operations against the Bangalees, but only after their president had landed in Karachi. The government has given the judiciary an opportunity to work independently. The roar of tanks broke the silence of the night. Under the leadership of Bangabandhu, Awami League achieved the majority in Pakistan. MARCH 1, 1971 President Yahya Khan announced the postponement until “a later date” of the National Assembly. There is no such country in the world like Bangladesh. It was 47 years of victory. Party colleagues and many others rushed to see Bangabandhu at his 32 Dhanmondi residence. On this Victory Day, many things are coming in our heart.It said that the liberation war of Bangladesh started in 1947. Victory Day reminds us of the history of our independence movement. On this day in history, a new sovereign country was created on the map of the world; its name is Bangladesh.

But before that day on 7th March, 1971 Bangabandhu made the path of independence by giving directions to the nation in his immortal speech on the Racecourse field.In 25th March 1971 Pakistani culprit attracted Bangladeshi people. And those anti-liberation, treacherous, war criminals trying to kill this sovereign state, there is unbearable hate for them. Students of Dhaka University were lined up, shot and then dumped into hastily dug mass graves.Bangabandhu was arrested by the Pakistan army and taken to what was then an under-construction national assembly building in the Second Capital area (today’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar). No one, at that point, could visualise the scale of the ferocity with which the army planned to strike.Between 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., the Pakistan army come out to pounce on the people of Bangladesh. The brutality was unprecedented as academics, students, policemen, East Pakistan Rifles personnel and sleeping rickshaw pullers were put to the gun and the bayonet.
