Ordered the lobster salad special thinking special attention had been given to a special but it wasn't anything I couldn't recreate in less than 5 minutes at home. My middle niece and I shared a very tasty tuna tartar layered in fried chips ( i think they were chips, they were definitely fried), and smoked salmon - whoa to the tastiness. Great food great service. Try to get a seat in the room with the fireplace. So I am chalking this up to what I hope was a bad night and adding an extra star.Fortunately, the company was good for our group holiday party, because the restaurant was not.
I had the Duck. The curb appeal is completely lacking hence all the missed opportunities they had in the past two years with us driving by. The duck is ALWAYS on point, as the Rack of Lamb. The crab cake was fried and the type you get in a frozen section of the supermarket, the "organic" salmon (what does that mean?) The waitress apparently did not get any lessons in serving etiquette. We work total 6 days during the week. I had the salad which was supposed to have haricot verts but were just regular fat string beans. Darling atmosphere, super cozy but the food is just simply not good. My brother in law owns a very famous restaurant in Florida and this the is number one thing to NOT do. It is one of my father in law's favorite places to dine. Went there on a Sunday for an early dinner. HUGE HUGE no no in the restaurant business. The food was good, crab cake had a nice crust, duck was plentiful and tender. Rick the host is so welcoming and accommodating.
He even accused him of hitting other cars which baffled us because we both knew this didn't happen. The menu had potential but the food was completely underwhelming. My niece had some really tasty salmon, and my other nieces dishes they said were "soooo good" as they had food in their mouth.
Barney's as a restaurant, has existed since 1985. had the fois gras special, which not only made me jealous, but made them unable to speak from the overkill of awesome. After complaining they took my plate cooked the rice more and brought back the fish just the way it was.

Unfortunately, the entire experience was tainted by an extremely rude waitress.Reading the previous reviews we were a little apprehensive about trying Barney's, however, since most of the negative comments related to service not food and it was Restaurant Week, we decided to give it a try and were not disappointed.
