Was this review helpful? I thought the gradual build up of tension was very well done with an underlying feeling of unease and then the completely unexpected jolts of pure fear -- Made all of us jump!

The acting was horrible, especially from Andrew Bowen. Conjurer is about how history returns to haunt even the unsuspecting. just filter reviews to "hated it" and y'll be informed.

This movie used it to chilling affect especially since I grew up in the country and know how aggressive they can be around dead animals and was attacked twice by them after one of our cats died and they were eating it. Yeah there's nothing revelatory or terribly unique about the story framework but they didn't go down the gore road and attempted something of a throwback with creepiness instead of blood, something I can appreciate. I like watching indie films and this looked at least interesting. Poor plot, max. OK, they want 10 lines.

Just have a walk in y'r area or take a bike ride through field and forest around y'r place y'll enjoy much better than watch this. You'll not see good or interesting pictures.

This movie starts off a little slow but has bone chillingly scary moments, In my opinion it ranks right up there with movies such as Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, Halloween etc. ). Doubt this will get any kind of theatrical release but will do well on DVD. I was a bit skeptical when I saw the 4.8 IMDb rating. Was this review helpful? We love independent movies especially spooky ones that don't do the whole gore thing and we saw this review quoted from Dreadcentral.com back in August: "No word on a distro deal for the film yet, but I'm sure it won't take long for someone to snatch this up. Shawn's thumb was stuck by a tooth in the cabin, an infection has set in, and is getting worse. I also didn't really know where the story was going and the ending caught me off guard with a psychological twist that was different. I Don't'T KNOW WHO WROTE ALL THESE REVIEWS, BUT THEY WERE WRONG. It's quite a decent little movie with a willingness to be slower paced and had some really nice spooky touches. Good ghost stories always are slower paced with unsettling creepy touches that can be moody and Gothic and spooky.

I also have to mention the crow. Was this review helpful? Some material may be inappropriate for pre-teenagers. The wife's brother(John Schinder)helps them buy the house. Actually this is one of the best low-budget supernatural horrors I have ever seen, although originality is hardly the case here (haunted cabin, evil witch, malicious raven, etc. William Devane portrays the families patriarch, while John Schneider plays the sister's protagonist, her cynical civilian brother. Conjurer is a 2008 supernatural horror film directed by Clint Hutchison and written by Hutchison and David Yarbrough. Both screenings had very positive reaction and we were glad to see this especially guessing the producers had about as much money as the catering budget of a studio picture for their film. After Nicky, the son of a New Jersey mob boss, is framed for a murder he didn't commit, he goes on the run and ends up in a small town in Tennessee where he's taken in by Trina. They've been used a lot in scary movies but mostly used in groups like in The Messengers which really wasn't very scary. It seems filmmakers are all jumping on the Asian bandwagon when it comes to horror and this movie had none of that which was a relief. Conjurer reaches for brilliance occasionally but shallow acting, appalling writing and cataclysmal camera work doom Conjurer to a gruesome death. It really made us want to see it but there was no word about a release or anything and there was no follow up news then we saw it was going to play at the Dixie Film Festival a few weeks ago.
