The homes each present their own feel and if you prefer a lighter, brighter more public feel I would suggest the larger Laurium Manor. The plan was to sink a second shaft 2,600 feet to the North and mine the area in between, along the Kearsarge Flow which ran parallel with present day U.S. 41. The front desk is at Laurium, so when we arrived to check in, they informed us that we were the only people scheduled to stay there that night so they upgraded us to a room in Victorian, free of charge!
