It can be frustrating and certain bosses will take significantly more tries than others. Strider is fun to play, despite its flaws. Those heavily invested in the story will be disappointed at the delivery of almost every character and the cartoonish qualities of some that clash against the uber-serious Strider.

With such gapsAfter a jaded history of attempted reboots and missing sequels, Strider finally returns once again on next gen consoles.

Double Helix Games The last "metroidvania" style game I played that looked this good was Dust Elysian Tale, and that game was made like a hand drawn animation versus Strider's 2.5D full rendered environments.

The jingle that plays when picking up a new collectible is joyous and addictive and the upgrade sound and animation sells the idea of Strider becoming that much more powerful.Finding out the ways to avoid certain attacks is half the battle.The only shortcoming is the voice acting, which is mostly poor. Definitely worth the money in terms of graphics, gameplay and controls.

Like a rightful ninja, Strider can easily cut through legions of soldiers and enemy robots with ease. It's fun but not in a must play kind of way.
