My grade, a solid A movie First 45 min was slow and dragging. A disease has thinned the population to near extinction. It's like they were trying to make it bad. I guess for some, the rifle's use might be a stumbling block. But what really pisses me off is how they co-opt things in popular culture just to fit in with the rest of us. You have to remember, this is an indie film with the budget of jack rhymes with pit. "The Tribe" is a very well done movie that takes place after a catastrophic plague of some kind. 4 out of 5 found this helpful. Anyway, the film is about a couple of chicks and their kid sister riding out the apocalypse in a shed until some lame hipster messes it all up.
Episodes Re-discover forgotten storylines. I do not want to give away any spoliers. 6 out of 8 found this helpful. I had the pleasure of viewing this film at the Female Eye Film Festival in Toronto back in June. The director utilized her (albeit limited) resources to optimum effect to create a feature that stands firmly on its feet with no apologies and which delivers a punch, the impact of which belies its modest budget. Three young sisters struggle to survive a pandemic that has ravaged their world until a stranger arrives and upends what they perceive to be reality.

The benchmark for Dystopian movies is quite low so it takes a special kind of director to make a movie that is unwatchable even by Dystopian movie standards. I am not sure where all the stellar reviews came from for this movie. Was this review helpful? A trio of sisters is surviving on an isolated ranch after an apocalyptic plague event has devastated their surroundings. There was much to be impressed about in this first feature. And sometimes you forget about that because it is a film with a relatively grand-scope feel to it. See more ideas about Tribe, Carnival 2017, Trinidad carnival. An 18-year-old basketball star who is being recruited by Cornell University seems to have it all figured out: captain of his team, a good student, has a longtime girlfriend and some good ... This is a drama not a horror film.

Looks like the apocalypse has plenty of lip gloss and hair care products. The director utilized her (albeit limited) resources to optimum effect to create a feature that stands firmly on its feet with no apologies and which delivers a punch, the impact of which belies its modest budget.

Its been a while since I wrote a review but then you come across something this special and you feel that you just have to warn the others. Spending about 3 seconds of dialogue talking about their dead parents with a 2 second flashback doesn't count, either. The illness is never fully revealed, giving the film a very realistic "from the survivior's viewpoint" feel to it. Surprise twists and a very haunting ending.
