These are outstanding songs in my estimation (however biased by the sirens of nostalgia), and this CD is a welcome "replacement" for my extremely weathered original vinyl LP, which I'll surely never throw away (a gift from my late father, a Communications Professor, in 1968) but have trouble enjoying fully these days from the vantage point of an audiophile. One of the greatest exploitation movies of all time, The Trip was the "vision" of Peter Fonda and Jack Nicholson (who wrote the original script). Music From "The Trip" Original Sound Track Album Composed and Performed by "The Electric Flag, An American Music Band" Track times on rear cover is different from what appears on the labels - see scans. Released on: … Side (1) is excell and side (2) slumps but closes with two excellent tracks.

I bought this because I am a huge Mike Bloomfield fan and the soundtrack is by the Electric Flag, the group that Mike formed after leaving the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

The Trip To Bountiful soundtrack from 1985, composed by J.A.C. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 15, 2007 Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 31, 2019 I recognized going in that this was a soundtrack to a "B" movie. so well. Directed by Michael Winterbottom. Several years ago they released an abridged version with only 12 tracks. Cat # ST-5908 appears on the label. Mike Bloomfield was the best USA guitarist of the 1960s and his inventiveness is shown to maximum grooviness herein. With Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon, Rebecca Johnson, Elodie Harrod. If You Love These Blues, Play 'Em As You Please I don't have the CD version of The Trip soundtrack but by looking at the listing of the tracks, there seems to be 6 tracks missing.

Who knows...but let's hope that sometime soon the whole thing gets sorted out and we get the original album in all its glory.

I was very disappointed to find that I had received a mono copy of the album.
If you're OK with those three caveats, then perhaps you'll enjoy this album as one of the more soulful psychedelic recordings out there. Amazon calculates a product’s star ratings based on a machine learned model instead of a raw data average. While this is the full soundtrack - buyer beware. The finished film didn't turn out exactly the way Fonda and Nicholson wanted it to, but it certainly had it's moments...all in Psychedelic Color. Highly recommended to Psychedelia fans, this 12 track, 27 min psychedelic soundtrack is nearly all instrumental with six tracks that are fragments.

I don't understand it...why couldn't they just have put a parental guidance sticker on it or a warning of explicit lyrics like they do with the metal and rap albums?
