Also they asked me how I wanted my burger cooked. On an evening, the relatively small bar area is transformed into a distractingly, noisy mess with tv screens all over the place. One of our guys left a jacket behind and it was there waiting for us next evening. Always had water, napkins, our sauces; everything. Thank you Carpe Diem!We ate here this weekend prior to shopping at Trader Joe's. And while most "bars" in Hoboken inevitably flip over into a club or a sports bar, this place keeps true to its identity all hours. Amazing!
"I made reservations for 2 for 6:30pm on Saturday, 12/22/2012. The staff here are very friendly and always welcoming. Perfect.
No biggie, plenty of other things on the menu. Out of this world!
Very intimate inside with seating for maybe 40 in the dining area. Highly recommended as your new 'local'" Only thing missing was the Toomeyclause. Food is very good. 209 reviews of Carpe Diem Pub & Restaurant "This hidden bar is a gem in Hoboken. Hour.

$5 apps which are HUGE and delicious (see pics). I didn't complain or say a word until the time started adding up. Not too loud unless there's a sports event .... appetizer was good, nicely done in a wine gravy, called pasties (flakey crust with meat inside). They offered us seats at the bar. We started off with the steak bites, which essentially can be its own meal. The waitress was short with us the entire time.
The buffalo wingsare remarkable, and the fries are remarkably underwhelming. I finally had a chance to stop in after the 'official' name change. Carpe has also helped me out with organizing events in their private room upstairs many times. We had to wait a little bit past our reservation time so they gave us complimentary drinks. Bill is amazing! Not so much. I ordered it medium rare, it was like chewing a tire, the bread was soggy not toasted, the sauce wasn't sauce. They might have BBQ too but I'm a sucker for the buffalo.
